PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk began in 1969 when a group of young activists from various universities wanted to make a weekly news magazine. They published a magazine called Ekspres, supported by B. M. Diah, the owner of the Merdeka newspaper who later became the Minister of Information. Among the founders, there were famous names such as Goenawan Mohamad, Fikri Jufri, Christianto Wibisono, and Usamah. The demand from customers was increasing along with the growth of the online population all over the world. However, the ‘now’ readers did not want the printed information since they were able to get the news from gadgets and smartphones.
