Donald Trump has always been a controversial figure in the eyes of America. Fiercely unapologetic and often politically incorrect, the 45th US President has repeatedly erred by brazenly implementing regulations that are controversial and at times, illogical. The main problem of this leadership style is that the leader tends to use threats or intimidation to foster loyalty often backfires. Superficially, using this type of leadership may garner the subordinate’ loyalty and respect, albeit artificial. Trump’s history of racism has been well documented. As early as 1970s, Trump Management Corporation was sued by the US Department of Justice for violating the Fair Housing Act after they found out that the company has refused to lend the properties to African American tenants by lying that the apartments were not available. In the aftermath of this, he signed an agreement in 1975 agreeing not to discriminate anyone based on his or her skin colors. The last case on Trump involves the misleading statement that Hurricane Dorian was going to impact the state of Alabama. Despite the mistake, President Trump made no move of correcting or apologizing for the statement.
